About

Owner-led. AI-native. Built to execute.

MinMaxers is one senior operator with modern tooling behind him — not an agency, not a pyramid, and not pretending otherwise. That is the product, not a limitation of it.

Founder

Founder & Forward-Deployed Engineer

Kansas City, Missouri

Credentials

  • B.S. Finance and Accounting, University of Arkansas
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner, Scrum Alliance
  • HubSpot Marketing, Sales, Service, and Reporting certifications
  • Koch Emerging Leader, 2019 — youngest and shortest-tenured selection

Riley started in finance and accounting — the discipline of asking what a decision is actually worth before anyone builds anything. That question has followed him through every role since.

As a financial analyst at a large manufacturer, he learned what changes a P&L on a factory floor. Leading business intelligence for the same company, he learned that the reporting layer is the mechanism through which operating decisions get made at all. At a venture-backed gaming platform, he learned that analytics teams are judged on decisions changed rather than dashboards shipped. As Director of Technology and Data Operations for a private-equity-backed healthcare group, he learned that the marketing problem and the data problem are usually the same problem.

Today he splits his time between MinMaxers and forward-deployed engineering work with Alpha Victor, the management and technology consulting arm at Altitude Ventures, where he is one of three founding employees supporting healthcare portfolio companies.

The through line is unusual: he can read the P&L and build the system. Most consulting engagements die at the handoff between the person who understood the business problem and the person who had to implement the solution. There is no handoff here.

The path here

Both sides of the same problem.

What changes the P&L, and what has to be built for that change to become real. Most people learn one or the other.

How we work

A few things we believe.

Start with the economics, then choose the technology.
A tool-first engagement finds problems its tool can solve. We would rather find the problem first and then argue about the tool.
The cheapest sufficient fix wins.
Building is often the most expensive answer and occasionally the right one. We do the arithmetic before we pick.
Shipped beats recommended.
A recommendation transfers the hard part back to you. If we cannot carry it into production, we have not finished.
Say the uncomfortable thing early.
If the opportunity is smaller than the fee, or the real constraint is a person rather than a system, that is worth hearing on the first call.
Your systems belong to you.
Accounts, data, and code stay in your possession. Leverage that depends on lock-in is not leverage we want.

Next step

Tell us what’s stuck and what you think it costs.

If we can move it, we’ll tell you how. If we can’t, we’ll tell you that instead — usually along with who can. Either answer is worth the conversation.
